Dr. Maydianne Andrade

Spiders!!!

Dr. Maydianne Andrade, a zoologist, has the enviable job of studying cannibalistic spiders. Her career might seem like something out of a horror film (her favorite genre).   Andrade studies the cannibalistic behavior of the Australian redback spider. and has discovered why it makes evolutionary sense for the males of this species commit what she calls "adaptive suicide."
